If you are working in Windows and you have to restart, applications will not be resumed automatically. This can be annoying if you are working on an important document or reading your favorite Internet website.

In Windows it is possible to automatically restart apps that were running after restarting. Windows will then open the application you had running before a Windows restart was performed.

Auto resume apps in Windows

To automatically open apps again after restarting Windows, start by opening the Windows settings. Click with the mouse on the Windows start button. In the left menu click on Settings.

Click on Login options in the menu on the left. In the Windows login options enable the option: Restart apps.

The next time you log back into Windows, apps will be restarted. This does not work for all applications in Windows, only specific apps that are designed to be bootable support this functionality.
