Disable tracking on an iPhone

Stefan

Mobile apps on an iPhone with iOS can track users. Tracking means that an app collects statistics about how often an app is used, when an app is used and how the app is used.

Advertising is also often shown via tracking and collected data can be shared with third parties. It is therefore important that you indicate whether you want apps to be allowed to track or whether you determine this per app.

You can manage tracking in iOS on an iPhone. This is how it works.

Disable tracking on an iPhone

Open settings on an iPhone. Then open “Privacy and security” in the settings. You will see a “Tracking” setting here.

To immediately disable all tracking, change the “Allow tracking requests from apps” setting to off. All past and future tracking requests are automatically blocked. So you will no longer see a message about whether or not to allow tracking per app.

If you want to allow tracking, but only for certain apps, change “Allow tracking requests from apps” to on. You can then choose to allow tracking by accepting the tracking notification.

If you want to manage which already installed app is allowed to track or not, you can switch tracking on or off per app by changing the slider to the desired status.
