Find images on the web with Google Lens

Google Chrome is a very extensive browser and more and more new features are being added to the browser. Google Lens is one such feature. Google Lens was previously available in various Google apps on Android devices such as a mobile phone or tablet.

However, what many people don't know is that Google Lens can also be used in the Chrome browser on a PC. Using Google Lens on a PC you can search images, text and more in the Google search engine.

What is Google Lens?

Google Lens is an artificial intelligence feature from Google. Users can use Google Lens to identify images, text and objects. For example, if you want to know what type of plant you have come across, you can take a photo of it via Google Lens and the type of plant will become visible.

As indicated, Google Lens is already part of Google search, Google Photos and even integrated into the Camera app on devices with the Android operating system.

It's not like you can only select one image at a time. You can also use the free space to select multiple images at once and search for them.

In a later version of Google Lens, Google will also come with a tool to draw what you want to search. Consider a brush where you can draw around an image to perform an even more precise search.

  1. Hello, my husband would like to use google lens on his laptop but he doesn't have the option when he right clicks on a photo. Just installed Google Chrome. Shouldn't it be included automatically?

    1. Hello, yes that is correct. It does depend on which website “element” you click on. It only works on images via the browser itself. So not via the right-click menu in Windows. Try it via Google image search. Open the Chrome browser, find an image, right-click on it. You should see “Search image via Google Lens” in the Google Chrome context menu.
      Success!
