Anyone who has ever taken a screenshot with Google Chrome knows that a browser extension must be installed. A browser extension is an extension in Google Chrome that can add new functions.
However, it is not necessary to install an extension at all. Google Chrome itself also contains a tool to take screenshots via the Chrome browser. You can activate this tool via the hidden settings in Google Chrome.
In addition to being able to take a screenshot via Google Chrome, it is also possible to edit the screenshot directly in the browser. This is how it works.
Use built-in screenshot tool in Google Chrome
Open the Google Chrome browser. In the address bar type: chrome://flags/
You now see the experimental features in Google Chrome. These are features that developers can test before potentially adding them to the official versions of Google Chrome.
In the search bar type: screenshots. Then change “Desktop screenshots” and “Desktop screenshots edit mode” to “Enabled”. Then click the “Relaunch” button to restart Google Chrome.
To then take a screenshot (“screen print”), click on the share icon in the address bar. In the menu click on “Screenshot”.
Then you can select the part you want to take a screenshot of.
Then you have two options. You can edit the screenshot or download it directly to your computer.
Unfortunately, editing doesn't work for me in Dutch. This may be resolved in future versions.
I hope to have informed you with this. Thank you for reading!
