If you want to watch videos while highlighting the image, this is called “picture in picture”.
Picture in Picture (PiP) is a feature that lets you watch videos in a smaller window while still using other apps or websites. It creates a floating video player that stays on top of windows, making multitasking easier. You'll find this feature standard in certain operating systems, web browsers, and even some TVs.
So with PiP you can pop up a video in a window and switch to another app like a word processor or email client without having to pause the video streaming. You can use this for YouTube, Netflix, ViaPlay or F1TV, for example.
While many browsers support picture in picture, this is not standard in the Chrome browser. You can install a browser extension developed by Google itself for this. This is how it works.
Highlight image (picture-in-picture) for Google Chrome
To get started, open the Google Chrome browser. Then open the Picture in Picture browser extension. Click the “Add to Chrome” button to install the browser extension. Confirm the installation by clicking “Add extension”.
After installation, I recommend pinning the extension to the Chrome extension menu. To do this, click on the puzzle icon. To the right of the extension, click on “Pin” which can be recognized by the pin icon. The extension is now always visible in the menu bar.
To activate picture in picture, now go to the website where the video is played. This could be YouTube, Netflix, Viaplay, F1 TV, Videoland etc. Now click on the picture and picture icon.
You will now see the video player displayed at the bottom right of the screen. You can move this video player by clicking and dragging it to the desired position. You can also resize the video player by clicking on the desired corner and dragging to the desired size.
You can close the video player by clicking on “back to tab” in the video player or on the cross in the top right corner.
If it's not what you're looking for, you can use the remove browser extension. I hope to have informed you with this. Thank you for reading!
