Badges are the small red circles that give an indication of a number, for example the number of unread e-mail messages. These badges are part of many different apps.
The red circles - the badge - on the taskbar can be annoying for some people, as it can be extremely distracting. Therefore, you can disable these badges. This way you will no longer be distracted or simply no longer see the frequent red indications.
