If you have changed hardware after a hardware problem. For example, if you replace your motherboard, Windows may no longer recognize the Windows license. You will need to reactivate Windows at that time.
Long ago, companies such as Dell, Hewlett-Packard (HP) Acer, etc. placed the license code as a sticker on the back of the computer. This time is over. Most computers are now activated with a digital license.
A digital license is one license code that is in the BIOS is hidden, in the ACPI table on the motherboard. If you then reinstall Windows, the Windows license key will be removed from the BIOS and Windows will be automatically activated at Microsoft.

Activate Windows 10 after switching hardware
If you Windows 10 is about to install from a computer on which Windows 10 is not yet installed, Windows 10 will ask you for a license key during installation.
You can click the button: I don't have an activation code to continue the installation. When the installation is complete, you will arrive at the Windows desktop. Then we will activate Windows.
Click on the Windows start button, in the left menu click on Settings.
