If you have a Smart WiFi router from Ziggo, you can use a WiFi guest network. The guest network is intended to allow guests in your home or business to access the Internet without giving them access to the main network and the devices and files connected to it.
Using a guest network increases security because it protects your personal information while providing an easy-to-use way for guests to connect to the Internet.
A guest WiFi network works the same way as any other wireless network, but it is logically separate from your main network. This means that it has its own network name (SSID) and password, and that guest user traffic is separated from traffic on the main WiFi network. Depending on the router or access point settings, you can set different levels of security and access control for the guest network.
Enable or disable Ziggo WiFi wireless guest network
To start, you need to log in to your Ziggo Smartwifi router. This generally works via the browser.

You can look up the IP address of your modem as follows if it is not the default IP address.

Guest network settings

The type of security (WPA2-PSK recommended) and the WiFi password to connect to the guest network. Click “save settings” to enable or disable the guest WiFi network.
Please note that if many guests access the Internet at the same time via the guest network, this may reduce the bandwidth available to the main network. This leads to slower internet speeds. Of course it depends on the capacity of your internet connection and the specifications of your router. Do not share guest network data with people you do not trust, all internet traffic can still be traced back to your specific internet connection and router, prevent misuse of your guest network.
