You can now download Microsoft Outlook for free from the AppStore. Where Microsoft Outlook was previously a paid app, available via Microsoft 365, it is now available to everyone.

The new Outlook app integrates more into macOS. There is support for notifications, reminders, calendar and activities will be added later that are available in the menu bar.
With the new Outlook profiles (available soon) you can link your email accounts to the Focus experience Apple. With Outlook profiles, you won't get unwanted notifications at the wrong time, so you can focus on important work email without being distracted by your personal email.

What I didn't find yet is a clear story about using Outlook without a Microsoft account. I still use Outlook 2010. Very nice and can be used locally.
But it's also old and (as far as I know) unusable on Win11.
I really don't want an MS account. I am investigating whether I really have to say goodbye to Outlook (and perhaps even MS-Windows) or whether there are still privacy-friendly options to continue using Outlook (in combination with Win11).
Hello, I think Outlook without a Microsoft account is no longer possible in the newer versions, especially Microsoft 365 or Office 2021. You can use alternatives to Outlook, such as ThunderBird or Mailbird.
