If you enable “Nearby Sharing” in Windows 11, you can share files via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi with nearby devices.
You can quickly share files such as images, documents, videos via “Immediate Sharing”. Both the receiver and sender must have Bluetooth enabled to share.
Nearby sharing in Windows 11
You can enable nearby sharing in three ways. The first way is via the action center in the taskbar. The second way is via the Windows 11 settings and the third way is through the right-click context menu.
Enable nearby sharing via the Action Center
Click on the icons in the taskbar. Then click on the brush (edit).
Then click Add. Click Share in immediate vicinity. Then click Done.
To enable Nearby Sharing, click the tile. If the Share in immediate vicinity tile is enabled, this tile will turn blue. If it is blank, sharing in the immediate area is disabled.
Enable nearby sharing via Windows settings
Right-click on the start button. Click on Settings in the menu. Click on System on the left in the menu and then click on “Share in immediate vicinity”.
Change the Off setting to Everyone Nearby.
Enable nearby sharing via the context menu
Right-click on the file you want to share. click on Show more options.
Click Share.
Change nearby sharing from off to Only my devices or everyone nearby. The devices in your area are automatically searched for. Click on it to share the file.
