Export favorites from Microsoft Edge to Google Chrome

If you use Windows, the Microsoft Edge browser is set as the default browser. Microsoft only offers Microsoft Edge as default browser, you must install all other browsers yourself.

Even though Edge is getting better and largely uses the same technology as Google Chrome, people are still installing the Google Chrome browser en masse in addition to Edge.

The Google Chrome browser has a number of advantages over Microsoft Edge, and these advantages become especially apparent if you also use a Google account, for example a Gmail email address.

It is therefore not unusual that many people want to switch from the standard Microsoft Edge browser to the Google Chrome browser at a later time. When you switch, you may want to export old data from Edge and import it back into Google Chrome.

This guide shows you how to export favorites from Microsoft Edge and import them into the Google Chrome browser.

Export favorites from Microsoft Edge to Google Chrome

In Google Chrome you can import data directly from a number of browsers to Chrome. Unfortunately not for Microsoft Edge.

If you want to move favorites from Edge to Chrome, you must first export them as an HTML file from Edge and re-import them via Google Chrome.

Open the Microsoft Edge browser. Click on the favorites icon in the address bar. Then click on the three horizontal dots and then on export favorites.
