7 useful tips for Google Chrome that everyone should know!

If you visit websites on the internet using Google Chrome, Google Chrome stores a lot of user and website data on your device.

Data such as cookies, completed web forms, and of course the web pages visited are kept in the history.

Google Chrome has the incognito mode in which this data is kept on the computer. However, only after closing the incognito mode will this data be automatically deleted from Google Chrome.

  1. Hi Stephen
    I have a question: if we want to log in somewhere with a password (banking), there was an eye icon so that we could check whether we had entered it correctly.
    But now this eye icon has disappeared.
    Is this something you can set again or is it not in the browser?
    I like to hear it

    1. Hi Christa, I have not been able to find anything that says this can be adjusted in Google Chrome. Sometimes an eye icon is also displayed by password manager, a third-party browser extension. It is also possible that the eye has disappeared due to a recent Google Chrome update or due to an adjustment to the login field of the website itself. You can try pressing ALT + F8 to display the password. Greetings, Stefan

  2. Via the shortcut to Google Chrome, you will find icons of visited websites under the search box, which you can remove, but an icon will remain, "Add quick link".
    How do you get that away now? Settings does not provide a solution and the “Tools” tool is missing in the top right corner. And yes, I have the latest version of Google Chrome.

    1. Hello, just removed from the “Add Quick Link” button in Chrome's new tab.
      Open Chrome. Click on “Customize Chrome” at the bottom right. Then click on “Shortcuts” in the menu and then enable the “Hide shortcuts” option. The new tab in Chrome is now empty with just a search bar.
      Greetings, Stefan

  3. When I start my PC (HP), it automatically goes to Google Chrome instead of my desktop. I always want to start up in the desktop with icons because if I need the internet when I click on the icon.

  4. Create a shortcut in Google Chrome;

    Hello all,

    Very nice, but I miss one important point and that is how can I delete that shortcut again? Adding is almost like kicking in an open door. But the draft is now so bad that I want to close the door again by removing the shortcut. Strange that the developers hid it like that!
