In Windows 11, audio improvements are available for the audio output device. These are improvements such as normalizing the sound. The audio enhancements available vary by output device.
For example, different audio enhancements are available for speakers than for headphones as an output device. You can turn stereo speakers into a surround experience, correct the sound in a room and boost the bass of the speakers.
If you are experiencing problems with the audio enhancements or you do not want Windows 11 to make changes to the sound, you may want to disable audio enhancements. If you are bothered by a certain sound and you want to improve the sound, you can enable this function to listen to whether you like the audio improvement.
Enable or disable audio enhancements in Windows 11
Open the settings. In the settings, click on “System” and then on “Sound”.
In the “output” settings, click on the output device whose audio enhancements you want to change.
At the bottom you will see two options to enable or disable audio enhancements. Changing Audio Enhancements to “Off” disables this feature. Changing audio enhancements to “Default Device Effect” enables this option.
You will then immediately see which audio improvements have been applied to the device.
You can also enable or disable “spatial audio”. This is an effect that recreates a 3D spatial sound. Special apps are required for this.
I hope to have informed you with this. Thank you for reading!
