Manage notifications in Windows 11? This is how!

Manage notifications in Windows 11

Receiving notifications in Windows 11 is useful for keeping track of what's happening on your Windows 11 computer. You will see notifications from installed apps, new emails or from the Windows operating system.

While notifications can be very useful, notifications are also experienced as annoying. If you are concentrated on working on the computer, notifications can be distracting. It is therefore possible in Windows 11 to disable or manage notifications so that notifications are only displayed from and when you wish.

You can choose to turn off notifications completely or show notifications in other places. If you temporarily do not wish to receive notifications, you can also move notifications to the Windows action center. This article shows you how to manage notifications in Windows 11.

Notification settings in Windows 11

The settings to manage notifications can be found in Windows in the following way. Right-click on the start button. Click on Settings in the menu.

Open Windows 11 settings

Click on System in the left menu. Then click on Notifications.

Disable notifications in Windows 11

You can show or hide notifications on the lock screen. Show or hide reminders and incoming Vo-IP calls on the lock screen. Or allow notifications to play a sound or not.

Silence notifications

If you do not want notifications for certain apps or settings to be displayed as a banner, you can keep the notification silent. The notification will then not be displayed on your screen, but placed in the action center.

If you have enabled the option: Show notifications in notification center, the notifications will be placed in the action center.

To disable the sound for a notification per app or per setting, change the setting: Play a sound when a notification arrives off.

At the very bottom you can change the priority of this app or notification setting to Top, high or normal. The notification will then appear in the action center in this order if you have enabled it.

Where can I find the action center?

All notifications that are not showing on your screen have been moved to the action center. You can recognize notifications in the action center by the blue dot with a number to the right next to the time and date. If you click on it you will find the notifications at the top.

    1. Hello I suspected that these notifications come from your browser. You can remove these by opening your browser's notification settings and then deleting the domain that sends these notifications. If you respond with which browser you use I will explain the instructions.

  1. I have done everything written. If I click on the time and date at the bottom right, I get the agenda. If I click on the arrow after day and date, the day and date appears in a small box at the bottom. If I click on the arrow next to it, I get the agenda again, as before.
I can't get my notification screen anywhere. I don't see a blue dot anywhere

How can I view my notification screen?
    Thanks in advance,
    Grtz, Stanny

    1. Hello, the blue dot is only there if there has been a notification. If no notification has been sent by an app, you will not see this bubble. Notifications are not something you can always view, notifications come and go. Make sure you have notifications enabled and they can be sent by app. If there is a notification, you will see this by the blue dot, if there is no notification(s) you will see nothing. Greetings, Stefan
