If you use Windows Explorer in Windows 10 to manage your files, it may be useful to add a star rating to media files.
A star rating ranks your files in Windows and ensures that you can easily find them in Windows via Windows Explorer and Windows Search.
You cannot add star rating to all files. As has been the case in many Windows versions, JPEG images and MP4 videos can do this, but Gifs and PNG files cannot.
Add star rating to files in Windows 10
To add a star rating, right-click on one of your media files. Click Properties from the content menu and click the Details tab.
Click apply. You have now successfully added a rating to the media file.
To locate the file, open Windows Explorer. In the upper right corner of Windows Explorer in the Search field, type Rating. A window will now appear to select the number of stars. Click on the number of stars you want to search for and the files with this star rating will appear in the search results.
