Windows 11 Insider build 22572 – What's new?

Microsoft has once again released a new insider preview for computers signed into the Windows insider program for developers (“developers”).

This time with version number 22572. Insider build 22572 again offers a number of new features, apps and improvements in Windows 11. It is not clear whether all changes and functions will be added in official Windows 11 versions.

Microsoft Family app

The family app in Windows 11 offers parents the ability to filter inappropriate apps and websites for children. These features were previously available on mobile phones and the Internet, but now also in Windows 11.

With the family app you can, among other things, set screen time for your child(ren) on a Windows computer, an Xbox and Android. In addition to setting limited functions, parents can also monitor their children's activity through reports.

Clipchamp

Clipchamp is a new video editing app developed by Microsoft. Clipchamp provides all the basic functionality to edit videos such as a timeline, cutting, pasting, adding animations, editing audio and more.

In addition to all the basic functionality, there is a library of free and paid predefined videos, audio files and images. Users can add these to make the video even more attractive.

To provide videos with spoken audio, a link has been created between the Azure text and speech function. Sharing videos becomes even easier through integration with OneDrive.

Clipchamp

Search in the taskbar

Search in the taskbar has also been updated in Insider build 22572. The search box in Start and Search is regularly updated with content, including fun illustrations, to help you discover more, stay connected, and stay productive. These hints in the search box give you a taste of what to expect in the search results at home.

Search Highlights present notable and interesting moments, such as holidays, anniversaries, and other educational moments in time, both globally and in your region.

The left side of Search also shows a comprehensive list of recently launched apps, files, settings, and websites to help you get back to what you were last doing.

Improvement

A number of improvements have also been made in this insider build. For starters, Microsoft has started improving the “print queue”. This has now been updated to match the Windows 11 design.

In addition, the app Quick Assist en Windows Sandbox The logo has been redesigned and the system icon for “do not disturb” has been adjusted.

The name “Windows Media player” referring to the old “Windows Media Player” has been renamed “Media Player legacy”.

In the future, if you click SHIFT + right mouse button in Windows Explorer on a shortcut or app, you will automatically open the “show more options” menu. Also known as it old right mouse button menu in Windows 11.
