If you have a large file that you want to send by email or share in some other way, you can divide the file into chunks. You must first compress it with, for example, WinRAR and then divide it into pieces.
These pieces, called “part001”, “part002” etc. can then be sent individually. This is useful, for example, if the service you use to upload files has a restriction on the size of each file that can be uploaded.
After dividing parts of a RAR file, the individual pieces must also be combined again into a whole RAR file. You can read how this works in this guide.

Share RAR files
To begin download WinRAR to your computer if you haven't already done so. WinRAR offers a free trial period, after this period you must purchase the software or continue to use it for free with a notification when opening.
Now open WinRAR on your computer. Once you have WinRAR open, use WinRAR to navigate to the file you want to split into pieces. Then select this file and click “Add” in the WinRAR menu. You will now add the file to a RAR file. We can then divide this file into pieces.
Now enter an archive name for the RAR file and the divided pieces. After this, select the default profile “RAR” and at the bottom of “Split archive (size)” enter the size in MBs or GBs for each divided file.
Then confirm with “OK” to divide the RAR file into multiple pieces.
You will then see a new type of file appear at the location of the original file with the file name in combination with “part001”, “part002” etc.
Combine separate RAR files into one file
To combine individual RAR files into one file, you need to install WinRAR. Make sure WinRAR is installed and all individual RAR files are in the same folder. If a file is missing, you will not be able to combine the RAR files.
Double-click on any of the individual RAR files to open in WinRAR. If this file does not open in WinRAR, right-click on the RAR file and click “Open with”.
In WinRAR, click on “Extract to” from the menu and select the desired location.
All “part001”, “part002” files will now be opened and the contents of the divided RAR file will be combined into one file. The content can be found at the selected location.
