To open shortcuts in Windows 11 or Windows 10 you will need by default double click. You can change this to a one-time mouse click.
If you enable single click, all shortcuts will be underlined. If you move the mouse pointer over a shortcut you will see that the cursor changes into a hand icon.
Clicking once is also recommended if you use Windows tablet mode or in a landscape overview. Pressing once with your finger is a lot easier than pressing twice.
Enable or disable one-time mouse click in Windows 11 or Windows 10
Open Windows Explorer. Then click on the “…” dots in the ribbon and click on Options in the menu.
On a PC with Windows 10, first click on “View” in the ribbon and then on “Options”.
Enable single click
Enable the following option “Open on single-click (hover select)” under the “Click items next” settings. You have now enabled clicking on your Windows PC.
You now have the choice to underline the program titles. You can underline the program titles as in a browser, each link is always underlined. Or you can choose to only underline program titles when hovering, i.e. when the mouse point is pointed at them.
Disable single click
If you want to disable single-click, enable the option “Open on double-click (select on single-click)”.
