Change notification sound in Windows 11

In Windows 11 you will receive several notifications. These can be system messages, app notifications en security notifications.

These notifications all play the same sound as they are shown in Windows 11. You can change this notification playback sound. You can select a different sound file for this or you can play your own custom sound.

For example, changing the notification sound can make your computing experience more personal and enjoyable. Also, different sounds for different types of notifications can help you quickly identify what type of notification you're receiving without having to look at the screen. This is particularly useful if you use multiple programs at the same time.

In addition, standard sounds can sometimes be experienced as disturbing, especially if you work in a quiet environment. Choosing a more subtle or pleasant sound can reduce the disturbance.
