Netflix is something most of us take for granted these days, but did you know it was founded over twenty years ago? The company's content streaming service started in 2007 and since then its user base has grown to a whopping 192 million active users as of 2020 to date.
With an ever-growing number of shows and movies available, it's hard not to binge on Netflix for hours. This is how to install Netflix from the Windows 10 Store.
Install Netflix in Windows 10
To get started, open the Microsoft Store. In the taskbar, click on the Microsoft Store icon. If it is not available in the taskbar then search the search bar for Store and open the Microsoft from there.
In the Microsoft Store, search for “netflix” and click the “download” button to install Netflix in Windows 10.
It's worth taking a moment to scroll through the page and review the system requirements, additional information and, most importantly, the company's privacy, terms and licensing terms.
When the installation is complete, a notification will appear at the bottom right of your desktop.
If you already have a Netflix account, click the “Sign In” button in the top right corner of the Netflix app. Otherwise, you can opt for a free trial for a month by clicking on the relevant “Get Started” button in the middle. You can complete the registration process via the Netflix app.
Netflix now offers full HDR streaming via the Windows 10 app. However, you need a fairly recent PC to enjoy 4K content.
The minimum specification requires you to have a 7th generation CPU or higher, minimum 8 GB RAM memory and an Nvidia 1050 GPU video card with 3 GB of video memory or an AMD equivalent.
You can only watch 4k content in the Windows 10 app, it is not possible to play 4k media in Google Chrome or Firefox. The media in Google Chrome or Firefox always plays in 720p. The Microsoft Edge browser does support 4k content when streaming Netflix in the browser. This also requires a fairly recent PC as it requires quite a few system processes. Please take this into account when choosing a subscription.
Netflix has introduced an offline feature that allows you to download content to watch later. Downloading content saves bandwidth and therefore some streaming error messages in Netflix appearance.
To download offline content via Netflix to the Netflix app in Windows 10, open a movie and look for the Download button.
Downloading offline content only works in the Netflix app and not via the Netflix.com website.
Read here about Attune's which browser(s) are supported by Netflix.
I hope this helped you. Thank you for reading.
How come I can, for example, select the series “Amount” on my TV, but I can't find it anywhere on my PC?
Hello Hans, I can't help you with that. This is a substantive question for Netflix. You can ask this question here.https://help.netflix.com/nl
