If a Bluetooth adapter is installed in the computer, you can enable Bluetooth in Windows 11.
However, if you are an administrator of one Windows 11 computer in a work or school environment, it may be desirable to block the Bluetooth settings. In this way it is no longer possible for a user to use the quick settings or institutions Turn on Bluetooth.
If Bluetooth is blocked in the settings, you may also be able to unblock the Bluetooth settings via the Windows registry adjustment below. Whether this is possible depends on the rights you have as a user in Windows 11.
Block or unblock Bluetooth in Windows 11
To block or unblock Bluetooth you need access to the Windows registry. Open the Windows registry.
Then go to the next key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PolicyManager\default\Connectivity\AllowBluetooth
Then double-click on the value called “value”. If you change this value data to “0” you will block Bluetooth on the PC.
If you change this value data to “1” then Bluetooth is unblocked. The default value is “2”. However, this has the same result as “1”.
Click OK to confirm.
If you now try to add a device via Bluetooth via the settings, you will see the message “Some of these settings are managed by your organization“. This means that Bluetooth is not available and therefore blocked.
You will also see in it system tray no longer the tile to enable Bluetooth. This tile is disabled because Bluetooth is blocked.
You can process this adjustment in a registration script in a work or school environment. So this allows you to apply restrictions to the system.
I hope this helped you. Thank you for reading!
