Space Lens is a new feature recently added to CleanMyMac. Space Lens is a great tool to quickly identify large files and folders on your Mac.

Space Lens helps users by creating a folder and file structure and linking a visual map with circles and colors to files and folders. This overview is called the Space Lens.
The new Space Lens feature makes it even easier and faster to identify files and folders by creating a user-friendly visual overview with colors.
Space Lens is a huge advancement in decluttering large, potentially unwanted files on your Mac. You can whenever you want clean up these folders or files immediately with CleanMyMac
Space Lens in CleanMyMac
You can activate Space Lens by opening the CleanMyMac X menu at the top left of the Mac menu.
Click preferences, open the Updates tab and select Provide updates to beta versions on from the menu.
Install the beta version of CleanMyMac X and Space Lens will be available in the menu.
How does Space Lens work in CleanMyMac X?
Space Lens uses colors to visualize the folder and file structure. CleanMyMac
In the left menu of CleanMyMac
Click Scan to start a search that retrieves information about the and folders files on your Mac collected.
Just wait until CleanMyMac has collected the data, this data is merged into a handy overview with each folder and folder a different color.
When the overview is completed, you will see a “Space lens” on the right containing the name of the folder and assigned color. The folders and files are sorted by which ones take up the most space on your Mac.
By clicking on the circles, or in the folder structure in the middle column, you can navigate through the folders to the largest folders or files on your Mac.
Space Lens sorts all folders and files by size, personally I find this useful and quick to identify large files.
In the middle column you will find the folder and file structure. If you want to delete a folder or file, click on the circle in front of the folder or file. If you want to select multiple folders or files, you can do so one by one.
To delete folders or files with CleanMyMac click the delete button in the center.
You have to be careful, Space-Lens also shows folders that are important for MacOS, folders of the operating system.
It is important not to delete these folders or files within them remove it to fix problems with macOS to prevent. These include the System, Library, Private, usr, dev, bin, sbin, tmp, etc, var, network and cores folder.
