Move or restore location of personal folders in Windows 11

Suppose you almost you run out of storage space and you want your personal folders move to another location or you have already moved your folder to another drive and now want to return it to its original place. In that case, this tip will help you.

Windows 11 allows you to change the default location of personal folders (such as Desktop, Pictures, Downloads, Documents, etc.) to a new location.

Using a similar process, you can restore the personal folders to their original location. I will explain both methods to you, how to move your personal folders to a new place and then how to restore them to their original place.

When you change the default location, the folder and its contents are moved to the new location, but you can still access them as you did before.

    1. Hello, you can also “cut” the folder CTRL + X and then paste it into the contents of the external drive. The folder will then not be copied or completely moved to the external drive.
