  1. Hi Stefan,
I have Windows 10, but when I start up I suddenly no longer have WiFi. Even in settings status, WiFi has been removed. When you click on the globe, you only see airplane mode. What can I do to put WiFi on my computer? The rest of the devices in the house simply have WiFi. Thank you in advance. Hans

    1. Hello, are you using a WiFi adapter? Make sure the correct WiFi drivers are installed. You can check this via Device Manager.

It seems “sudden”, but of course it is not. Something has changed. This includes installing software or replacing drivers.

Restoring a restore point is also an option:

      Success!

  2. Good evening,
I am encountering the following problem:
Every so often my Windows 11 laptop (Acer aspire 5) connects to WiFi when starting up, but does not connect to the Internet. Internet access also disappears during use. The message is: no internet access. Android and iOS devices do not suffer from this, but my daughter's similar laptop with Win 10 does. When connecting to the router via cable, there is internet access. I did the following:
    - turned WiFi on and off on the laptop > no result
-dns cache, etc cleared and reset > no result
-windows troubleshooters used > gives no results or the message: no network access
    – Wi-Fi connection was deleted and reset > no result
-installed new driver for WiFi > no result.
the only thing that helps is to reset the router (KPN V12 box), but lately the problem has occurred more often (shorter periods between outages).
Perhaps you can shed some light on this matter.
    Yours sincerely.

    1. Hello, if WiFi does not drop, only the connection, then it is in the modem. Where exactly is difficult to say.

      1. You can try setting the WiFi channels for 2,4 & 5GHZ instead of “Auto”.
      2. Start reading the log file. After this, please contact KPN if there is anything specific in it.
      3. Finally, you can reset the modem, but after contacting KPN.

Here's how to do all this:

      1. Good afternoon Stefan,
Thanks for the tips. As a result, I started searching the KPN forum again. There I found an item that described exactly the problem. It seems to occur specifically with Intel adapters. According to KPN, the solution is to increase the bandwidth of the 5 GHz band in the modem from 20 MHz to 80 MHz. I have done that now and it seems to work. Now we just have to see whether this will remain the case for a long time. Anyway, thanks so far!

        1. Good to read that a possible solution has been offered. If it indeed concerns Intel chipsets, then they have quite a lot to do at KPN, since quite a few Intel chipsets are used. M curious! Good luck!
