With Windows 11, the latest version of Microsoft's operating system, you get access to a range of innovations and improvements that increase your ease of use and personalize the user experience.
One of the most noticeable changes is the redesigned taskbar. This centrally located bar at the bottom of your screen has not only been made more aesthetically pleasing, but also offers new functionalities and customization options.
Whether you want to change the location of icons, add shortcuts, or change the overall look and feel of the taskbar, Windows 11 gives you all the tools you need. In this guide, I'll show you how to customize the taskbar in Windows 11 to your own needs.
Customize taskbar in Windows 11
Open taskbar settings
To customize the taskbar you need to open the taskbar settings. Right-click on free space in the taskbar. Click Taskbar Settings in the menu.
Change taskbar items
If you have opened the taskbar settings, you will see items at the top of the taskbar. These are the buttons you see on the taskbar. This is a set of four buttons that you can enable or disable. You can enable or disable the following buttons in the taskbar items menu. The search button, the task view button, the widgets button and the chat button.
Enable or disable system tray icons
The taskbar corner is the right side of the taskbar to the left of the time and date. Here you will also find the open icons apps and apps running in the background being active.
To this set of icons you can add three icons, namely the pen menu and the on-screen keyboard and a virtual touchpad. You can add all three icons by enabling or disabling each feature.
Show other system tray icons
More icons are displayed in the taskbar corner. By default, only OneDrive is visible. The other icons are hidden under an arrow. This arrow opens the system tray icons.
To make even more icons visible, I mean the icons hidden under the arrow. You can customize these icons via the overflow menu.
Please provide per icon which you want to display in the system tray icons menu. You can change the following icons:
Microsoft OneDrive, Windows Security, Microsoft Teams, Windows Explorer (hardware notifications) and msteams.exe. These icons may be different in other versions of Windows 11, for example future versions. Depending on installed apps, more icons are shown.
Adjust taskbar behavior
In Windows 11, like previous versions of Windows, you can customize the behavior of the taskbar. There are a number of adjustments you can make. I will explain them one by one.
Auto-hide taskbar
If you enable this option, the taskbar will disappear automatically when your mouse is not on the taskbar. If you hover your mouse over the location of the taskbar, the taskbar will be displayed again. Enable or disable the option: Auto-hide taskbar according to your preference.
Show badges in taskbar apps
If you use Microsoft mail, for example, you can immediately see how many unread messages you have via this function. So a number will be displayed on the icon in the taskbar if the app supports it. Microsoft mail supports badges, but there are more apps.
Show flashing on taskbar apps
When there is a notification from an app, the icon in the taskbar may flash to get your attention. You can adjust this by enabling or disabling this feature.
Show my taskbar on all screens
If you have multiple monitors connected to your computer, turning this feature on or off allows you to control whether the entire taskbar is displayed on all monitors. This does not mean that the taskbar is extended, but the same taskbar with icons and notifications can be seen on every screen. You can optionally choose to customize the appearance of the taskbar apps.
Share any window from my taskbar
This feature allows you to share an open window with participants in, for example, a Teams meeting. If you are in a meeting and you hover over any window in the taskbar, you will immediately see a button to share that window.
Select the far corner of the taskbar to display the desktop
To quickly switch from an open window to the desktop, enabling this feature allows you to minimize all open windows and show the desktop in one click. There is a very small line visible, all the way to the right of the time and date. If you hover your mouse over it you will see “Show desktop”.
Show seconds in system tray clock
By enabling this feature, as the title suggests, you will see the seconds in the clock display on the taskbar.
Move taskbar up, vertically to the left or right
Please note: This is not an official way. I recommend you get one create a restore point before continuing. If you create a restore point you can revert the changes.
You can move the taskbar up, vertically to the left or right. However, there is one drawback and that is that the taskbar icons become misaligned in some cases.
In Windows 11, the same registry keys are applied as in Windows 10. This way of moving the taskbar vertically to the left or right is the same as in Windows 10, only in Windows 11 this is not officially supported by Microsoft with alignment and other possible – resulting in problems with the taskbar. So take this into account.
Open the Windows registry. Go via the left to the next key:
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StuckRects3
Double-click on “Settings”. You will now edit the binary value. Here's an important point, otherwise it won't work. Please read carefully
On the second line in the value data you go to the fifth binary data. You click with the mouse right-wing next to the fifth binary data. In this example it is “03”, the mouse point then flashes to the right of “03” as in the example image below.
Press backspace on your keyboard once and type one of the following values, depending on where you want to place the taskbar. It is important that you type both numbers.
00: Taskbar on the left side of the screen.
01: Taskbar at the top of the screen.
02: Taskbar on the right side of the screen.
03: Taskbar at the bottom of the screen (normal).
So if you want to place the taskbar at the top of the screen, just type “01” without quotes. You will then see the “03” change to “01”. Click OK.
If you make a mistake now, DO NOT click OK but click Cancel and try again. If you have clicked OK, you can always change it back to “03” to place the taskbar where Microsoft intended it, namely the bottom of the screen.
Once you have adjusted the value to the desired location on the taskbar, right-click on the start button. Click “Windows Terminal (Admin)”.
In the Windows Terminal window, type two commands in succession.
taskkill /f /im explorer.exe explorer.exe
Then if everything went well you will see the taskbar where you would expect it to be, at the top, left, right or normally at the bottom. Here is an example of the taskbar at the top.
I also tested left and right, it didn't work for me, no icons appeared in the taskbar. It may work for you, you should test this. Again, make sure you have a restore point as previously stated at the beginning of this chapter.
Add website shortcut to taskbar
If you want to add a shortcut to a website to the taskbar, this is in principle not possible in Windows 11. However, there is a solution to add a hyperlink to the Windows 11 taskbar.
Right-click on free space on the desktop. Click New and then Shortcut. In the location field, type:
explorer.exe https://hetadresnaardewebsite.nl/
Replace the website address of your choice. Then enter a recognizable name for the shortcut.
Then right-click on the shortcut and click Properties from the menu. Click on the Shortcut tab and click on “Other Icon” and select a recognizable icon so that you know it is a hyperlink. Then click Apply and OK.
Right-click the shortcut again and click “show more options”. Then click “pin to taskbar”. You now have a hyperlink to a website on the taskbar in Windows 11.
Click on the shortcut in the taskbar and select the browser you want to use to open the shortcut. All future shortcuts will then be opened with this browser. This is an unofficial way to add a website shortcut to the Windows 11 taskbar.
Add folder shortcut to taskbar
If you want to add a shortcut to a folder to the taskbar, this is in principle not possible in Windows 11. However, there is a solution to add a folder shortcut to the Windows 11 taskbar.
Right-click on free space on the desktop. Click New and then Shortcut. In the location field, type:
explorer.exe c:\windows\
Replace the location to the folder of your choice. Then enter a recognizable name for the shortcut.
Then right-click on the shortcut and click Properties from the menu. Click on the Shortcut tab and click on “Other Icon” and select a recognizable icon so that you know it is a shortcut. Then click Apply and OK.
Right-click the shortcut again and click “show more options.” Then click “pin to taskbar”. You now have a hyperlink to a website on the taskbar in Windows 11.
Click on the folder in the taskbar, the folder location will now open. This is an unofficial way to add a folder shortcut to the Windows 11 taskbar.
Add file shortcut to taskbar
If you want to add a shortcut to a file to the taskbar, this is in principle not possible in Windows 11. However, there is a solution to add a file shortcut to the Windows 11 taskbar. This could be, for example, a word document or excel document.
Right-click on free space on the desktop. Click New and then Shortcut. In the location field, type:
explorer.exe C:\Users\stefan\Desktop\test.doc
Replace the location with the file of your choice. Then enter a recognizable name for the shortcut.
Then right-click on the shortcut and click Properties from the menu. Click the Shortcut tab and click “Other Icon” and select a recognizable icon so you know it is a shortcut to that file. Then click Apply and OK.
Right-click the shortcut again and click “show more options.” Then click “pin to taskbar”. You now have a shortcut the file on the taskbar in Windows 11.
Basically, you can add any file or app to the taskbar this way. Each shortcut so you can add it to the taskbar.
Click on the file in the taskbar, the file will now open. This is an unofficial way to add a file shortcut to the Windows 11 taskbar.
Ungroup taskbar windows (show taskbar window in separate tile)
By default, Windows 11 groups all open windows under an icon. This means that if you have multiple windows open, all of them will be under the icon and you will have to click on them to open a specific window.
You can now also ungroup this window. This means that all windows are displayed separately on the taskbar. This makes it easier to see how many windows are open and to select them more easily.
Right-click on the taskbar. Then click on “taskbar settings”. Click on “Taskbar Behavior” and change the option “Combine taskbar buttons and hide labels” to “Never” or “When taskbar is full”. If you choose never, you will always see all open windows in the taskbar. The option when the taskbar is full, only if there are so many windows open that the taskbar is full.
Make taskbar transparent
TranslucentTB is a utility that allows you to customize the Windows 11 taskbar to your liking. TranslucentTB allows you to make the Windows 11 taskbar transparent, allowing it to blend seamlessly into your background.
By selecting simple settings you can choose full transparency, a slightly blurred effect or the acrylic effect. It is a lightweight tool specifically designed to improve the aesthetics of your desktop without consuming a lot of system resources. Install TranslucentTB, launch the program and customize the taskbar the way you want. This is how it works.
To get started, open the Microsoft Store. In the search bar type: translucenttb. Then download and install the app.
When you open the app, you will immediately see that the taskbar has become transparent. Below is an example:
The big advantage of translucenttb is that it only makes the taskbar transparent. All other windows are not made transparent. This is in contrast to the transparent effects in Windows itself, which make all windows transparent.
You will find translucenttb in the system tray menu as an icon. Right-click on it to open the options of this app.

Definitely a thank you for this extensive article, can't you just change the registration entry Stuckrects3 with regedit on my laptop under Windows 10?
If you know an answer to that, thanks in advance,
Regards John
Hello, I don't know whether “Stuckrects3” works on Windows 10. This app also allows you to move the taskbar:

Sorry for my mistake, my laptop runs on W11, desktop runs on W10, so my problem remains with not being able to adjust? Gr John
Hello, I recommend you use WinAero from the link in my previous comment. This does the same thing, but you don't have to adjust the registry value yourself. The adjustment is quite precise, if you put even one space wrong it won't work. There may be a mistake there, or not, the app is the easiest and free.
What I forgot, I don't think moving left or right works anymore. Microsoft has disabled this.
Success!
At the bottom left of the taskbar there is an icon with a cloud of the weather.
It now says Cloudy with a temperature indication in degrees Fahrenheit
How can I change this to degrees Celsius,
Please reply by e-mail
regards
Hello, click on the icon with the cloud and weather. Then click on the three dots at the top right of the “weather widget”. This is one of the widgets you see in the current weather window. Change the display from Fahrenheit to Celsius.
Success!
The Best
I am unable to place the task bar vertically on the right
Adjusted the registry key as indicated in value 02, pressed ok, restarted explorer, but taskbar remains at the bottom
When I go back to the register I see that the value is again at 03, it apparently sets itself to 03
what am I doing wrong
who knows??
Hello, this is no longer supported by Microsoft since the last Windows 11 updates.
Can I reduce the height of my toolbar? With thanks, Johny Simoens
Hello, I cannot immediately determine from your question what you mean. I suspect you want to shrink the taskbar. This can be done by reducing the icons in the taskbar in the following way, read more: https://www.pc-tips.info/tips/windows-tips/grootte-taakbalk-pictogrammen-windows-11/
Success!
Dear Stephen,
Thank you for the quick answer. I am a 77 year old beginner. When I bought my laptop in April last, it was possible in WIN 10 to narrow the height of the toolbar, but now I lose space at the bottom. As far as I can tell, there is no provision anywhere to make this possible.
In view of the new minimalist appearance of Windows 11, this is no longer present. Unfortunately.
Dear Stefan, thank you again for your answer. It's a shame that the toolbar doesn't adapt to the size of the icons.
Johny
Goodmorning good afternoon Good evening .
I now have Windows 10 on my laptop.
I have also read that Windows 11 is available, my question is: is Windows 11 free? and the taskbar in windows 11 is the same as in windows 10.
Hello, yes Windows 11 is free. However, the computer must meet the requirements set by Microsoft in order to install Windows 11. You can check this with the PC Health Check app. This app checks if Windows 10 can be replaced by Windows 11:
https://www.pc-tips.info/tips/windows-tips/windows-11-pc-health-check-app-downloaden/
Windows 11 is different from Windows 10, especially the taskbar. Read more here:

After the last Windows update, which I MUST perform, an advertising link appeared IN my search option box. The box at the bottom left 'type here to search…', next to the text that picture. It is a link to Bing, but the link is bluntly a 'search for Turkish Riviera, resorts and other advertising. This pisses me off!!! I can't get it off!!! What a sickening Windows update, again! How do I get it away?!
As long as it is there, do not accept the update!!!

Hi Stefan,
Every now and then when starting my Win 11 PC, the icons in the middle disappear from my taskbar. The taskbar itself does not disappear. I have to restart my PC for these to become visible again. How can I fix this? Please provide feedback.
Hello, I recommend that you implement the tips in the following article:
https://www.pc-tips.info/tips/windows-tips/taakbalk-werkt-niet/
Good luck! Greetings, Stefan
Hello Stefan,
What I no longer find in Windows 11 is the option to expand the taskbar towards the top, so that it contains 2 or 3 rows of icons. Can this be reset somehow, or is there another handy way to make all icons on the taskbar visible (and therefore clickable)?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
Jan.
Hello, that's right, you can no longer enlarge the taskbar to the top like in Windows 10. You could, as it were, double the taskbar there, but that is no longer possible. Microsoft has done all this because of the minimalist look of Windows 11.
Your second question about the icons is about the taskbar? Then not. When it comes to the system icons next to the time and date, yes. This is how it works.
Right-click on the taskbar. Click on taskbar settings. Click on “Overflow menu in the corner of the taskbar” and set all the icons you want to display to “on”. Good luck!
Greetings, Stefan
Hi Stefan,
I have been using Windows 11 for a while now and I really like it. However, the overflow menu does not work properly.
Because I want to see all icons, I turn everything on in the overflow menu: then I see all icons again. But after a while (PC off/on or after sleep mode) all icons are back in the overflow menu.
Very annoying that my setting is not remembered...
I ensure that Windows is always up to date...
Do you know the solution?
Hello, that could be due to an incorrect cache (temporary files). To resolve this problem, run both DISM and SFC: https://www.pc-tips.info/tips/windows-tips/3-tips-om-een-probleem-in-windows-op-te-lossen/
If it still doesn't work, do the following. Press Windows + R and type “%userprofile%” without quotes. In Windows Explorer, click View > Show and then click hidden items. Double-click the AppData folder and then click Local. Search for file “IconCache” and delete the file. Restart the computer and try again. Good luck!
Greetings, Stefan
Hi Stefan. I have 2 questions:
I am trying to add shortcuts as explained by you. But when I right-click on the shortcut, I don't see the "pin to taskbar" option in "show more options". What am I doing wrong?
Maybe this is not the right place, but I also need an old version of Internet Explorer to view some security cameras. That worked fine in Windows 10, but this version of IE spontaneously disappeared after the upgrade to Win 11. I can no longer install this either, it automatically switches to Edge, and I cannot see the cameras there. Any idea how I can solve this?
Hello, if you click on “show more options” the “old” Windows 10 menu will open, there you will find “pin to taskbar”. You can also restore the old context menu (right mouse button menu):
https://www.pc-tips.info/tips/windows-tips/rechtermuisknop-menu-terugzetten-windows-11/
Internet Explorer in Windows has indeed disappeared. There are two solutions for this. Or you use Internet Explorer for Windows 11: https://www.pc-tips.info/tips/windows-tips/internet-explorer-in-windows-11/ This version limited.
Or, you use “Internet Explorer mode” in Microsoft Edge:
https://www.pc-tips.info/tips/windows-tips/website-openen-als-internet-explorer-modus-in-microsoft-edge/
Good luck! Greetings, Stefan
That IE story does it! Happy with!
In the Win 10 menu under the shortcuts, I am missing the option “pin to taskbar”. He's just not there. Could this be due to my Windows version? (Win11 pro 64)
Hello, pin to taskbar only works on a shortcut. So make sure it is a shortcut, not a file or folder. If it concerns a file or folder, first create a shortcut and then “pin to taskbar”. Greetings, Stefan
This actually works with a shortcut of an .exe file of a certain program. But with a shortcut of a certain file, the right-click menu is much more concise for me and that option is not there...
Hello, that is possible. It works for the most common file types, such as an executable file, a website shortcut or a shortcut of one of the Office apps. Greetings, Stefan
Hi Stefan, I would really like to make both top and bottom taskbars (thin, smaller) in Windows 11, is that even possible Stefan?
thank you in advance
Greetings,Jamie
I answered you in another question 🙂
Hi Stefan, After much insistence, I downloaded Windows 11 yesterday and I already regret it. I assume that I will get used to most of the changes, although I don't understand the reasons. But what really bums me out is that I can no longer place my taskbar vertically on the right side of my screen. Is there a way for that?
Regards, Hans
Hello Hans, I added a new chapter in this article that allows you to move the taskbar up, left, right or back to the bottom. Please read this carefully before you start. This is not an official way, keep this in mind.
If you want to go back to Windows 10, you can do so this way: https://www.pc-tips.info/tips/windows-tips/windows-11-terugzetten-naar-windows-10/
Greetings, Stefan.
Hi Stefan,
Your explanation about putting shortcuts in the Windows 11 taskbar works perfectly, but can I also get the “this PC” folder in the taskbar? Now I have to go to the desktop every time to open this PC.
Regards,
Trudy
Hello Trudy,
you create a shortcut in the same way as explained in the article. In the “item location” field, type:
%windir%\explorer.exe "
don't forget the ".You then pin this shortcut to the taskbar. You can also customize the icon as explained in this article.
Good luck! Greetings, Stefan.
Perfect Stefan, thank you! Great that there is someone who can give you an answer to your question, and also very clearly!!!
Thanks 🙂 you're welcome. Greetings, Stefan
Hi Stephen
I have placed the notepad and the snipping program on the taskbar, but no icons appear, only 2 blank fields when I hover the mouse over them. Then a white square will light up and display the name Notepad or Snipping Tool. The icons do work.
Gr. Hank
Hello Henk, I also tested it and with notepad I see a notepad icon. So something is going wrong, but it is not possible for me to identify a problem for this. I suspect external software, but I have no idea which one. I recommend you to run SFC and DISM from the article below: https://www.pc-tips.info/tips/windows-tips/3-tips-om-een-probleem-in-windows-op-te-lossen/. This restores Windows components and may solve the problem. Good luck! Greetings, Stefan.
Hi Stefan,
“Before” in Windows 10 you could move or copy files or attachments from one (active) application in the taskbar to another (active) application. This was done by "picking up" the item with the left mouse button, dragging it to the target application on the taskbar, hovering/waiting there for a moment and then the application opened automatically, after which you could let go of the item and it was moved. /copied. Now the target application no longer opens in Windows 11. Is this configurable somewhere?
Hello Eric, thank you for the clear explanation of the problem. Unfortunately not, this is currently not part of Windows 11. A known problem that many people suffer from. Greetings, Stefan
Thanks for your quick response. I saw elsewhere that it might be coming again soon. So I'll wait and see... Greetings, Eric
Hello Eric, if you have the information I would like to read it too. bvd! Greetings, Stefan
I recently installed Win11.
Now I notice that I can no longer choose to display open icons next to each other in the taskbar, but that, for example, all open Chrome windows are next to each other. This was possible in all previous versions of Windows, do you have a solution?
mrsgr
Hello René, this is no longer part of the Windows 11 taskbar. That's because Microsoft introduced a minimalist appearance with Windows 11, which meant that these types of features were no longer available. I have occasionally come across an adjustment to get it working, but this requires third-party software to be installed and the taskbar to be restored to that of Windows 10 with this software. You can then adjust the taskbar with a registry adjustment. Then the entire Windows 11 taskbar will disappear and you will be dependent on third-party software. I will send you the link to this information by email.
Greetings, Stefan
Hello Stefan,
I would also like to see the icons side by side again as I often have to switch between word and ppt. Could you also email this to me please?
Greetings
Sanne
Hello Stefan, I installed Windows 11 yesterday and now the following:
I can also slide the taskbar up a little because I only see half of it. Best regards. Luke
Hello Luuk, unfortunately not, at least not as far as I know via the Windows 11 settings. If anyone knows how, please respond with more information such as a hyperlink to an article with an explanation. Try adjusting the resolution, etc., maybe that helps. Greetings, Stefan
How can I move an icon from desktop to taskbar
Hello, right click on the shortcut (only works with shortcuts!) click “show more options” and then click “Pin to taskbar”. Greetings, Stefan
Hallo,
I don't have an internet icon on the right taskbar. How can I get these again?
Avb,
Paul
Hello Paul, unfortunately I couldn't find a solution. I have tried several solutions, nothing has worked either. I would recommend this to you to try something.
https://www.pc-tips.info/tips/windows-tips/wifi-werkt-niet-in-windows-11/ only run the “Network Troubleshooter”. After that, I recommend you run SFC and DISM:
https://www.pc-tips.info/tips/windows-tips/3-tips-om-een-probleem-in-windows-op-te-lossen/
If it didn't help I would personally reinstall Windows 11.
Greetings, Stefan
Hi Stefan,
Thanks for the effort. Your solution didn't help and I'll just leave it as it is. Windows 11 is still in its early stages and when it has become more mature I will do a clean install.
Best regards,
Paul.
Thanks for the feedback. Good luck! Greetings, Stefan
Hello, I have been working with Windows 11 Home since today.
Now I want to move a number of icons from Spotify from my taskbar to the desktop, but I can't do that. With Windows 10 you could just drag them from the taskbar to the desktop. I cannot do this in Windows 11. How do I get those icons on my desktop?
Hello Wilfried, to remove a shortcut from the taskbar, right-click on the shortcut and then unpin it from the taskbar. I think this was successful. To add a shortcut of an app to the desktop, go to the .exe file, right-click on it, then click “show more options” and then copy it to and then desktop (create shortcut). In the case of Spotify it works differently.
Right-click on free space on the desktop. Then click New and then Shortcut. In the “location” field type: Spotify and click Next. Give the shortcut a name and click OK. There is now a shortcut to Spotify on the desktop.
Greetings, Stefan.
Thanks for your comment. I have now succeeded, but as it was in Windows 10, just dragging it to the desktop is much easier.
Greetings
Wilfried
Glad it worked out. I will pass it on to Microsoft 😉 Greetings, Stefan
Hi Stefan, how can I place the taskbar on the left of the screen in Windows 11?
When I open the assistance about the location of the taskbar, an explanation follows on how to change its location in Windows 10!?
Hello Pieter, this is not possible by default in Windows 11. Unfortunately. You can only display the taskbar at the top or bottom. The assistance must not have been adjusted yet, or it is an error, I have no idea really. Greetings, Stefan.
However, it can still be placed on the left
Yes, align left, but don't place left. I think this means placing it on the left side of the window, just like in Windows 10 where the taskbar is vertically left. If you know how you can do this in Windows 11, I would like to receive the information. Greetings, Stefan
Where can I find start/all programs in windows 11? to uninstall programs.
Hello Henk, you can uninstall apps (programs) in Windows 11 in the following way.
Click on the start button. Then click on Settings and then on Apps on the left. Then click on Apps & features. Search for the app in question in the list and click on the three vertical dots. Then click Uninstall to uninstall the apps.
Greetings, Stefan
Using Windows 11, I have removed the current weather forecast from the system tray on the right of the taskbar.
How do I restore this? Can't find this anywhere
Hello Luuk, the current weather report is no longer in the taskbar on the right in Windows 11. You have not removed it either, it has been moved to a Widget.
Read more about Widgets: https://www.pc-tips.info/tips/windows-tips/widgets-aanpassen-en-beheren-in-windows-11/
Greetings, Stefan
How can I display my windows on the taskbar in a separate tile in Windows 11? The setting to ungroup the app windows is missing, now I have to move the cursor over the main tile and then select the desired window.
Hello John, I don't think this is possible. In any case, I don't know, if anyone else knows, please respond!
Greetings, Stefan
I'd like to know this too. The fact that this is not possible is incredibly irritating. What a retarded update.
I miss this too, it was so useful! Too bad!
What a loss! For my work I often hop from one document to another to copy, etc. This costs me a lot of extra steps in between to go from one document to the other. Definitely not a fan of Windows 11… It looks nice, but is not practical at all.
Hello, please note that certain functionality is usually returned to Microsoft via updates. It often takes a little longer.
I have added an alternative in this article, read more in chapter “Ungroup taskbar windows (show taskbar window in separate tile)”
Greetings, Stefan
Hey,
I would like to know if you can have date and time on all taskbars, I have 3 screens and can only see the time on 1?
Hi Tim, that is certainly possible, although not officially, but with a third-party app. See this article: https://www.pc-tips.info/tips/windows-tips/klok-op-alle-beeldschermen-in-windows-11/
Greetings, Stefan
Hello Stefan, is it also possible to remove the date from the clock? I have small icons in the taskbar that make the date unreadable.
Annoys me a bit, otherwise no problems!
Would love to hear from you, thanks in advance.
Hello Adri, which Windows version is this?
Greetings, Stefan
I cannot find the on/off button in the indicated area on the right.
you can see the button in the square blue block white/blue
I would like to make this heading visible on the taskbar, is that possible?
Hello Kees, I have created an article based on your question. I've had this question before. You can add a shutdown button to the taskbar. However, for this you need to perform a few steps. It is not yet standard functionality in Windows.
https://www.pc-tips.info/tips/windows-tips/uitschakelen-knop-toevoegen-taakbalk-windows/
Greetings, Stefan.
Hi Stefan, thank you for your explanation here, since yesterday I have installed a new laptop and everything and now also Windows 11
but can't find the power button and restart in my desktop
Hello Ramses, you will not find the on/off and restart button on the desktop, but in the start menu. Click on the start menu. You will find the relevant buttons at the bottom right.
Greetings, Stefan
Hi, can I make my icons smaller in the taskbar???
kind regards yvo
Hello Yvo, that is possible. However, not via the settings. This requires a registry adjustment. I will send you an email with this registry adjustment.
Greetings, Stefan.
Hi Stephen,
Could you perhaps send me that link too?
Hello Ewout, I have written an article about it in the meantime: https://www.pc-tips.info/tips/windows-tips/grootte-taakbalk-pictogrammen-windows-11/
